Biography, life story of Zyuganov Gennady Andreevich

Childhood, youth, career. 1944-1990 years.

The birthplace of the future politician was the village of Mymrino, located a hundred kilometers from Orel. On June 26, 1944, a son was born in the Zyuganov family, who was named Gennady.

His father, Andrei Mikhailovich (1910-1990), went through the war, was an artilleryman, then worked at a local school, where he taught several subjects. The mother of Gennady Andreevich, Marfa Petrovna (1915-2004), was a primary school teacher.

Gennady Andreevich graduated from school in 1961 with a silver medal, and worked as a teacher at the Mymrinskaya school for another year. In 1962, he became a student at the Oryol Pedagogical Institute, enrolling in physics and mathematics. During his studies, he led the KVN team of his faculty.

Since 1963, Zyuganov was drafted into the army and sent to Germany. He served in chemical intelligence, and is now a colonel in the chemical troops. In 1966, he was demobilized and continued his studies, and in 1969 he graduated from the institute with honors.

In 1969-1970, Zyuganov worked at the Oryol Pedagogical Institute, combining teaching activities with active social and trade union work.

Gennady Andreevich has been a member of the CPSU since 1966. Already since 1967 he worked in the organs of the Komsomol, was elected to various positions in the district, city, region.

In 1972-1974, Zyuganov was the first secretary in the Oryol Regional Committee of the Komsomol. For several years (1974-1983) he headed the district committee, then became the second secretary of the city committee, and then headed the propaganda department at the Oryol regional committee of the CPSU.

In 1973-1977, Zyuganov worked as a deputy of the Oryol city council, and in 1980-1983 he was a deputy of the regional council.

In 1978, Gennady Andreevich entered graduate school at the Academy of Social Sciences of the Central Committee of the CPSU, from which he graduated in 1980. In the same ode, he became a candidate of science. The topic of his dissertation was devoted to the main directions of development of the socialist urban way of life. As an example, large cities of the country were considered.

1983-1989: Zyuganov worked as an instructor, and then head of a sector in the Department of Propaganda and Agitation under the Central Committee of the CPSU.

1989-1990: Deputy Head of the Ideological Department of the Central Committee of the CPSU.

In June 1990, Zyuganov was a delegate to the 28th Party Congress of the CPSU, as well as the Constituent Congress of the Communist Party of the RSFSR.

1990-2000

At the First Constituent Congress of the Communist Party of the RSFSR in June-September 1990, Zyuganov was elected chairman of the commission on humanitarian and ideological problems, and then secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the RSFSR.

On May 7, 1991, the Sovetskaya Rossiya newspaper published Zyuganov's open letter to Alexander Yakovlev, senior adviser to Mikhail Gorbachev, President of the USSR. In a letter called "The Architect at the Ruins," Zyuganov harshly criticizes the policy of the authorities ("perestroika").

In July 1991, Zyuganov, along with other well-known figures in politics, science and culture, signed the Word to the People. This appeal offered measures to save the Soviet Union from collapse and warned of possible unpredictable consequences. During the August events of 1991, Gennady Andreevich was nominated as a candidate for the post of 1st Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the RSFSR, but he withdrew his candidacy in favor of V.A. Kuptsov, since at that time Zyuganov had no experience in parliament.

At the end of 1991, Zyuganov was invited to the coordinators of the Russian People's Union and the Fatherland movement. In 1992, Zyuganov was a member of the first congress of the Russian National Cathedral and became a member of the Presidium of the RNS.

In 1992, he became a member of the organizing committee of the National Salvation Front. At the second congress of the Communist Party of the RSFSR in February 1993, Zyuganov was elected a member of the Central Executive Committee, and at the first plenum of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, he became chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party.

In July 1993, he participated in the Second Congress of the National Salvation Front. After President Yeltsin announced the dissolution of parliament, the chairman of the Russian Communist Party was in the House of Soviets and took part in speeches at rallies. On October 3, Zyuganov appears on television and calls on Muscovites not to participate in rallies and clashes with the police.

On December 12, 1993, Zyuganov became a deputy of the State Duma of the first convocation, heading the federal list of the Communist Party. From 1994 to the present, he has been the head of the parliamentary faction of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

In the spring of 1994, he became one of the founders of the opposition movement "Consent for the sake of Russia." In January 1995, he was elected chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party. In December 1995, he again became a deputy of the State Duma of the second convocation.

In March 1996, Gennady Andreevich Zyuganov was officially registered as a candidate for the presidency of the Russian Federation. According to the results of the first round of elections in June 1996, Zyuganov won 32% of the vote, and in the second round in July, 40% of Russians who came to the polls cast their votes for him.

A decade and a half later, at a meeting with party representatives, the president frankly stated that the 1996 elections were, to put it mildly, not entirely fair and that in fact Zyuganov won, and not.

In August 1996, Zyuganov headed the coordinating council of the People's Patriotic Union of Russia, which included political parties and social movements that supported his candidacy in the elections.

In 1997, the politician calls on Parliament to force the resignation with guarantees of immunity. At the same time, he appealed to political parties and movements not to take any actions aimed at weakening power.
In the spring of 1998, Zyuganov called for impeachment.

After the default and resignation of the Kiriyenko government in August 1998, Viktor Chernomyrdin was proposed as a candidate for the post of prime minister. Initially, there was an agreement between the factions of the State Duma to agree with the candidacy of Chernomyrdin. But later, the leaders of parties and factions refused to support the candidate proposed. Chernomyrdin was twice not approved for the post of prime minister. Then he proposed Primakov's candidacy for approval by the Duma, for whom the majority of deputies, including the Communists, voted.

In the spring of 1999, at the initiative of Zyuganov, the State Duma again voted on the impeachment of the president. Despite the fact that the majority of deputies were in favor of impeachment, the required 300 votes were not collected.

Before the new parliamentary elections, Zyuganov heads the For Victory bloc, formed on the basis of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

In December 1999, he again became a deputy of the State Duma of the third convocation on the list of the Communist Party.

2000s

In 2000, Zyuganov participates in the presidential elections. In his election program, he promises to nationalize natural resources, and to divide the income from natural rent among the citizens of Russia. In addition, Zyuganov demands plans to return the state monopoly on alcohol and tobacco products, guarantees the employment of all citizens and decent wages, promises to return completely free medicine and free education, halve taxes for industrial enterprises, introduce preferential treatment for high-tech enterprises, and also make the necessary amendments to the Constitution so that Russia is not a presidential, but a parliamentary republic. In the elections, Zyuganov won almost 30% of the vote.

In early 2001, he was elected Chairman of the Council of the Union of Communist Parties at the plenum of the Council of the UPC-CPSU.

In 2003 and 2007, Gennady Andreevich was elected to the State Duma of the fourth and fifth convocations, respectively.

In 2004, Zyuganov refused to participate in the presidential elections, which were in fact of a formal nature, and the Communist Party was represented by presidential candidate Nikolai Kharitonov.

In 2004, Zyuganov published the book "On Russians and on Russia". In this book, he calls on all patriotic and communist movements to come out in defense of the Russians. In this work, there is an idea that the campaign to discredit Russian patriotism, accusations of the emergence of Russian nationalism and fascism, was carefully planned by the West and picked up in Russia by the “fifth column”, since the global plan to dismantle Russian self-consciousness actually failed.

In 2006, the chairman of the Russian Communist Party spoke about the need to develop a new foreign and domestic policy for the country, using the experience of China, India, Vietnam, Belarus and European countries.

In 2008, Zyuganov is the main contender in the presidential elections and comes in second place with 17.72 percent of the vote. More than 13 million citizens voted for the chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

In the fall of 2008, at the height of the economic crisis, Zyuganov proposes a large-scale nationalization of the country's wealth.

In 2011, he became a deputy of the State Duma of the sixth convocation, and in 2012 he participated in the presidential elections and won 17.18% of the vote. After the official vote count, Zyuganov did not recognize the election results. In his opinion, the elections were illegitimate.

From 1996 to 2004 he was the head of the People's Patriotic Union. Since 2001, he has led the Union of Communist Parties - the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

Developed socio-economic programs for the patriotic opposition.

Some media reports that Zyuganov and his family often rest at the state dacha in the Moscow region in the Snegiri rest house of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation. Plays volleyball, billiards, plants flowers. Also, Gennady Andreevich is known as a lover of hiking in the mountains. He achieved success in sports: the first category in athletics, triathlon and volleyball.

Zyuganov prefers to spend his holidays in Kislovodsk.
